2025 Designer Show House Hartford
Primary Bathroom
Generally, our days begin and end in the same space: the primary bathroom. It sets the tone for the whole day, so why not make it as unique and beautiful as the people who occupy it. The space I created speaks to my love of old homes, originals details, saturated color, layered patterns, and eclectic interiors that mix both traditional and modern elements. The amazing original tile in the primary bath was the jumping point for the incredible patterned wallpaper. The classic cafe curtains showcase the stunning original windows, while the bold vanity and statement lighting infuse modern elements into this otherwise traditional space. Sprinkle in some handmade paper flowers and vintage bamboo accents for good measure, and you've got the recipe for a room that is sure to evoke joy.

Transitional Dining Room
Ellen is that good friend who knows just how to make space feel special and "like you". I particularly like how Ellen makes elevated living accesssible to all budgets. Working with a full-service design firm cane be so inaccessible and overwhelming for people. Ellens's system allows for you to work on any space at your own pace ... when and how you can. Ellen helped me to do my dining room, saving the pieces I couldn't part with, finding hte perfect compliments to enhance what was already working in the room. I am especially happy with the wallpaper and window coverings she helped me source. Ultimately, the room feels like a real part of our home, not a museum showroom, and that's all due to Ellen's collaborative nature. Can't wait until we can do it again!

Elegant Primary Bathroom

Ellen completely transformed our dated primary bathroom. What was once a dark and unwlecoming space is now warm, sophisticated, and inviting. Ellen devised a layout that maximized form and function. No detailed was spared ... from marble trim, vintage rugs, and elegant artwork to stunning wallpaper, and layered fabrics throughout, everything was executed beautifully. I never dreamed this space could look like this, and I owe it all to Ellen and her expertise. Cannot recommend her enough.

Formal Entry

Honestly, I cannot say enough about Ellen and her amazing sense of style, talent, and vision. I have always admired her decor, her exquisite taste and ability to combine textures and colors that result in beautiful cohesive concepts.
Two things set her apart- the first is that she was willing to take me on as a long distance client. I reside in Maryland and she in Connecticut. We were able to communicate via FaceTime, texts, phone calls, and still shots and she absolutely nailed it. She was able to create some extraordinary design boards that captured my existing decor and took everything to another level. I had been struggling with a few rooms in my home and she was able to suggest some lovely pieces that complemeneted and brought each room to life. The second is that she has a keen eye to combine both modern and antique/ sentimental pieces that result in beautiful and seamless spaces. It is a testament to her talent and skill set that she was able to design and decorate from 350 miles away! She was able to capture the essence of our home and weave in al of the beautiful details and color combinations that our home was lacking. I look forward to working with her on many future projects!

Formal Dining Room

Ellen has beautiful taste and a great eye for space and design. She helped me to make my cramped, dark living room into a cozy fresh oasis last year, and now we are working together on the dining room! I love that Ellen delivers a clear inspiring design, answers all my dumb questions, and then my husband and I can execute the plan at our own pace, making tweaks if we need to along the way. I never dreamed I'd be able to afford professionally designed interiors, but Ellen's unique business model makes it possible. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Little Boy's Room

I wanted a big boy room for my three year old that he could grow into. Not only did Ellen make it beautiful, it's also fun and functional. She chose pieces within my budget that were easily accessible and suggested things (wallpapered ceiling!) that I would have never thought of. She was also able to incorporate some of my current pieces and family heirloom seamlessly. I love this space, and so does my son!!
