The Homemaker
An Affordable Approach to Interior Design
Hello! Welcome to The Homemaker. After years of working in design, as well as renovating my own home, I've decided to turn my passion into a career. My career path has taken lots of turns in the last twenty years (former UConn social work graduate here). After spending time pursuing other career paths while simultaneously flipping through House Beautiful, I joined a local design firm in 2018 and finally followed my passion for interior decorating. Working at the firm taught me a lot ... and ignited an idea. While full-scale design is wonderful, I noticed a need for those looking to make smaller home improvements, involving less time and money. Hence the birth of The Homemaker.
I would describe my personal style as transitional- the perfect partnership between traditional and modern. I love to mix old and new, high and low. I strive to create layered rooms; infusing rich fabrics, colors, textures, and unique accessories. I believe that a room should be carefully collected. Oh, and when it comes to wallpaper, the answer is always yes.
I currently reside in West Hartford with my husband, two children, and two pups. I'm originally from the Philadelphia area (Philly girl at heart) and moved to Connecticut when I was 13. In addition to decorating, I love fashion (I would really excel at a mall version of Supermarket Sweep), travel (put me on a beach anywhere, preferably with a daiquiri in-hand, and I'll be happy), history (particularly when it comes to old houses), and all things '80s and '90s (think rompers, Monster Ballads, and Dirty Dancing). When I'm not catching reruns of Beverly Hills, 90210, you can find me perusing antiques or hanging with my family and friends.
